Hall-O-Ween

After school we headed on over to SCHS for Hall-O-Ween!!!
The students and teachers decorate the halls, get dressed up, and hand out candy!
Brynklie just had to stand on the SC, and Jaxyn wanted to chill by the post!

It was super fun, and they got more candy than they needed! I told them that we wouldn't have to trick or treat now, but they didn't like that idea!

It was fun to see Jaycie in the hall!
Brady was there too, but he wouldn't let me take his picture!

This was the coolest costume I saw!
I still can't figure out which end was actually up!

After Hall-O-Ween we headed over to see Grandma!
The kids are always happy to see her!
Love you Grandma!

Halloween Day.........

Happy Halloween!!!

This is what the Shotwell family looked like on their way to school this morning!

Jaycie was stuck in the 80's!
Kylie was from India.....her friends look pretty cool too!

Jaxyn the Pirate!

and Miss Brynklie the dancing princess!

Yes, I even got involved and dressed up as a Gypsy Fortune Teller!
(at first I was just a gypsy, but Brynklie insisted that I was a Fortune Teller!)
Skyler jetted off to school before I could get a picture of him.....we'll get him after school!
at 9:30 am the school had their annual Halloween Parade!
Here is our parading pirate!
His teacher Mrs. Heger.....the 3 kindergarten teachers were dressed as the Three Little Pigs!

Brynklie informed me that she is no longer a dancing princess, but is now Hannah Montana!

You can be anything you want on Halloween, her friend was dressed like Elizabeth Swann but said she was Taylor Swift......I see a trend here!

I wasn't fast enough to get Mrs. Mangus parading but I got her later at the Class Party!

This is Mrs. Peterson, our principal at the "tail" end of the parade!

I went into Brynklie's classroom and helped with the Halloween Party!

They did games..Don't eat Halloween, Pin the hat on the witch, and a pumpkin walk. Decorated cookies and made a sucker ghost! Then they listened to a ghost story and sang some fun Halloween songs to us as a thank you! It was a fun party!!
I rushed home to my lunch bunch that comes on Friday! They were all dressed up cute! I get these kids every Friday for lunch and I love them! It is such a fun thing to have them come hang out for a quick 1/2 hour! Jake was missing today?!? Oh, and notice Jaxyn is no longer a pirate, but a cowboy......converting costumes! That is the theme for Halloween this year!Oh look, I found Jake at Hall-O-Ween.

Apparently watching last night's episode of the office was more important than lunch!

Skyler was so happy to put his costume back on for me after school!

This outfit keeps him safe while skateboarding!

Tonight we'll have more Halloween fun!

BTW, Lance is out of town in Steamboat Springs til next Thursday! I will be trying to blog as much as I can to help him keep up with what he's missing! I think he dressed up like a construction worker today!!

Jaycie gets her answer!!!

Last night the door bell rang.........the kids raced to the door (as usual) but found nobody there) Brynklie later reported that a very tall boy wearing black was running away from the house when she opened the door! Tee Hee! There was this darling pumpkin sitting on the door step......

There was a note attached to the top......Jaycie being the smart gal she is, inspected the pumpkin and found a small cut in the bottom of the pumpkin. She totally cheated and cut open the bottom of the pumpkin!
She found a small straw with a note in it among the goo and seeds at the bottom of the pumpkin!

The answer read: Great friends make great dates! I would love to go to Sadie's with you- Jake
Being a mom of teenagers has to be the most fun thing in the world!

The 13th Floor

One of my favorite things is going to my kids' programs and plays! Kylie this year is taking Drama at the middle school! They put on a play called "The 13th Floor", about kids who go to a party at a hotel on the 13th Floor......which isn't supposed to exist since all hotel floors go from 12 to 14! Kylie had many parts and it was super fun to watch her put her fun out going personality to work! She totally cracks me up!
The monsters came out and danced to "Thriller"!
Kylie also played the part of "Jane" in the lip sync version of Ray Steven's
Guitarzan! She was HILLARIOUS!!!
Get outta the way baby, I'm tryin to sing!
The skeleton dance, which one is Kylie???
She also played the "complainer"!
a police officer,
and last but not least....a very cute pirate!
Great job Ky......you're awesome!

The "Bounty" Fair

YW in Excellence this year had the funnest theme...EVER!
We held a "Bounty" Fair!

The smell of hay and popcorn filled the air!

Kris and Jill packaged the popcorn!

Lemonade to drink! Thanks Denise and Debbie!

Lots of preparation went into this fun night!
Brittany and Lauren working hard!
Each table was a different value!

There was a treat, or a "bounty" to receive at each table. Also, a game or something entertaining! The girls displayed their projects on the value table of their choice!

Yes, we even had cotton candy full of integrity!!

Brother Packer made a great MC and conducted the activities for the evening!

This is the "Bounty" Fair Royalty! These girls completed their Personal Progress this year, and received their YW Recognition Award!

Jaycie and Kylie were a part of the royalty! They both got their award this last Sunday!
Jaycie has always wanted to be a rodeo queen!!
In the "midway" there were talent acts held every 10 minutes or so!

Ashley and Berlyn juggled and uni-cycled for us! It was awesome!
Some YM came to perform "Hand for the Hog" for us!

Jaycie doin' a jig!

We even had Carrie Underwood make an appearance!

Bishop Varney was a good sport and dressed up for the occasion!
He even joined in on the cake walk!
There were Dancers.....

and dosey doers!

Our Stake YW Leaders were there to enjoy the fun!

Anything you can do I can do better!

No, you can't!.....Yes, I can!!

Brother Chalmers tied balloons for the kids!

That was a crowd pleaser!

Thrillin Chillers!

And singin' sweethearts!

The whole gang! It was a super great night!

Thanks to all involved who made it possible!
It went off without a "hitch"!!
