Handsome Colton
Pretty Flower Girls!

A Beautiful Day for a Wedding!

Miss Marley Jo was a beautiful flower girl!
Jaycie and Amanda wish they lived closer! These cousins are the best of friends!
Colton the handsome groom
Carson was a very handsome best man!
Chris, Riley, and Colton! These boys were all a year old at my wedding!
Handsome aren't they!

Some Days It Feels Like You've Bit Off More Than You Can Chew!

This is my sister in law's puppy Tuffy! I think he might have taken on more than he can handle here!

New Soccer Season

The 2008 Soccer Season has begun! Jaycie has been playing JV and Varsity! It's been fun so far but the Varsity team is 0-fer. That is a quote from the coach! Tuesday we start the official season. Tonight we play the new Desert Hill's at Snow Canyon. Sadly, Jaycie will be unable to play due to some health problems she is experiencing! We hope she gets better soon!
Let's go SC.....Fire it Up!
At the first game Jaycie got a calf injury. This is the second game. Her daddy is massaging her calf in between playing time! Lance was able to come home just in time to catch this game! We hope he is able to make it to more games!
I think this shot is Jaycie coming off the field after the game. I haven't been able to get any great action shots, my camera is pretty slow in the dark! Plus she is pretty fast and it's hard to keep up with her!
This is Jaxyn the water boy! I think he had more fun squirting the kids than helping them with water! See the war paint on his face? He is showing his Warrior Pride!

My Opinion

BTW, I finished Breaking Dawn a week or so ago and I have meant to post about it. If you haven't read the book..........read no further, because I will probably blow it for you!
I liked it! I didn't LOVE it! I don't know if it's the whole married verses dating thing and so it lost it's butterflies in the belly or what! The book took a totally different direction than what I expected, who could forsee a half human/half vampire child in the future? Interesting! I totally think that if she wanted she could write the next saga..........The Life of Renesme and Jacob. But maybe it's better left alone! I would definately recommend you read it, but beware that it is written quite a bit more adult than the last few books. I wondered if I should let Jaycie read it, but decided that it didn't get into things so deeply that she would be harmed by it. So..........what did you think?

Nothing New!

Well, not much new is going on at the Shotwell House! Lance is out of town still building in Panguitch and I am just trying to keep up with all of the Back To School Nights for the kids! Having five kids in four different schools has caused a bit of a shake up in our schedule, but it's nothing we can't handle! Just gotta settle into that new routine! Everyone is loving school! Jaycie had her first soccer games last Thursday and Friday! We lost both JV and Varsity games on Thursday against Springville. We won 10-0 against Provo JV on Friday. Jaycie made 3 of those goals! She also got some great playing time on the Varsity side, but they lost 2-0. I love attending those games! It's such a fun thing, getting together with the other soccer parents and watching our girls play thier hearts out! I think we have a great team this year and have a good chance of taking region! They left today to go up to Woods Cross and Bountiful for games today and tomorrow! Friday we head up to Orem for Lance's nephew Colton's wedding! We are all excited for him and wish him the best! I always marvel at how time flies but I really can't believe that this little boy is old enough to get married! Seems like only yesterday he was a 1 year old at my wedding!! Skyler started football this week and we are excited to start going to his games! Kylie has been working hard at dance and is enjoying her role as captain! She really does well with responsibility! We are looking forward to going to some of the SCHS football games as well to watch our nephew John Jr! We went to the Green and Gold Scrimmage on Saturday and it was fun! I have to say, it'll be nice when things cool down and we can sit in the bleachers without being shaded by an umbrella! Brynklie and Jaxyn are staying busy attending all of their brother and sisters activities and hanging with friends! Jaxyn doesn't know what to think about the homework he has to do. He wonders why his teacher has to tell him what to do even when he is at home! LOL! I will get some soccer pictures posted soon, my laptop isn't working properly, so it'll be a while! I am hoping to get some good pictures at Colton's wedding too! Have a great weekend everyone!

Jaxyn's First Week at Kindergarten

Well, Jaxyn's First Week of Kindergarten was a hit! He loves it, and only wishes he could go all day! Today he has a blister on his hand from doing the monkey bars! It makes me giggle to know that he is so big! I can't believe how fast this time has gone. I miss him as a baby but just love to watch him learn and grow! He cracks me up with his observations! I will try to keep track of them and share!!
This was Thursday, his first day of walking all the way to the classroom by himself! He didn't want me to go on Wednesday but I insisted! Bye Mom!
Jaxyn's official first day! It was yellow day and we don't have any new yellow school shirts, so we went with the old faithful soccer shirt! He loves this shirt and was more than happy to wear it! All ready to go with his Iron Man backpack!

Jaxyn goes to Kindergarten

Yes, it's true! Jaxyn started kindergarten yesterday! It was a fun day, he and I went to Mrs. Heger's class and got to follow a treasure map! You can see it in his picture sitting on his desk. We went around to the different centers and completed different tasks and put them in his folder! He did a great job writing his numbers, coloring and ice cream cone, drawing himself as a pirate and frosting a graham cracker! Mrs. Heger took some cute pictures of him, with some fun goggles on! Her classroom theme is a pirate/sea theme! He will have a blast this year, if he can just be patient enough to wait for 12:45pm to come around so that he can go to school!
I will post some different pictures from his first week at school! Today is yellow day, so he is wearing his yellow soccer jersey! We'll get around to wearing his cute new school clothes soon enough!
Thank you my guardian angels!

Back To School

I can't believe that school has already started! I think this summer was the fastest summer in the history of summers! We had alot of fun together and spent alot of time just hanging out around the house! Our favorite activity this summer was probably swimming in our pool, and our family camp out in July! Another highlight was definately Aunt Barb and Patrick's visit, and for the girls and I....Girl's Camp! Jaycie did attend SUU soccer camp with her team and Skyler also attended scout camp. Now it's on to a fun filled year, and we are ready to watch some fun games of soccer and football and excited to see Kylie progress in dance! I can't wait to spend countless hours doing homework and reading after school either! Luckily my 10th grader is a pre-calculus student and can help her siblings with thier math!
Have a great school year everyone!
Jaycie's first day of High School! Jaycie is excited to be a Sophomore this year! My how the years have flown! She recently made the Soccer team where she hopes to get some Varsity playing time! She is also very busy serving on the Sophomore Class Presidency as the Activities and Assemblies Chairperson! I'd like to know how I got kids who are as old as I still feel!
Kylie is now an 8th Grader at SCMS! Kylie has some fun classes this year! She also just started back to dance at DTS! She was just voted the Turning Point Captain!
Here is Kylie and her friends heading to the bus on the first day of school!! FUN!!!
Skyler also goes to a new school this year! He is at the Intermediate School in 6th Grade! He will soon start football but for now is having a great time with his buddies and checking out all the new girls at the new school! YIKES!
Brynklie Jo is now a big 2nd grader! She has Mrs. Mangus and is excited to be in the "portables" this year! Brynklie is our social butterfly (not the only one) and enjoys hanging with friends, and making new friends!
