Lava Flow Hike

This morning we headed out at 6am and drove up towards Veyo 4 miles to take a hike! My mom had taken this hike with a Red Mt. Spa guide who is a friend of hers and has wanted to take us ever since! We finally did it! The first hour was spent exploring and just trying to find the right trail to get to the petroglyphs! Luckily we ran into a group of hikers from the Red Mt. Spa and found out that we had been skirting the petroglyphs the whole time! They led us into a narrow canyon with a really cool tree in it, I wish we would have gotten a picture of that, it was great! There were petroglyphs all over the wall but it was dark in the narrow canyon, so we didn't get any pictures in there! The best petroglyphs were found on a wall that was up on the ridge on the trail leading out of the hike! We did end up missing one rock that had petroglyphs on it, so we can't wait to go back and find it! I think the kids will love it, but we will wait til cooler weather. We got out of there at 9 am and it was already getting pretty warm! These pictures are courtesy of my mom! Love ya mom, thanks!! Lance and Mom in front of the petroglyphs!
Oh Deer!?!
Me and my honey!
Whatever does this mean?
Lance thinks this is evidence that there are aliens out there!

Memorial Day 2008

This is our Memorial Day BBQ! My brother John smoked a brisket and some hot links! That is one of my most favorite things ever! He is an awesome BBQ chef and hopefully will one day open his own restaraunt/BBQ stand.............Mantown!!! The side dishes were cheesy potatoes, corn bread w/honey butter, baked beans and macaroni salad! Oh and can't forget the lemonaide! It was awesome! At our house food means love............so everyone was WELL LOVED that day!! We had a couple different families over, it was kind of cold for swimming but the kids were brave! We had a great time, and are looking forward to many more backyard summer parties!

Girl's Camp '08

So I will apologize ahead of time! My camera is broken, so until I get a new one..........I will be depending on the photos that others take!! I want to share some from girl's camp but can't get them to upload! We were the first stake on the mountain this year! It was COLD! I did the fourth year hike with Jaycie and the other fourth year girls! It was a 9 mile full back pack (mine was 35 lbs.), overnight hike! It was a learning experience and it was awesome! The good news is, we survived the hike and survived the freezing cold! We even hiked through some snow! We had a great time and I think that everyone came back closer to one another and our Heavenly Father! The camp theme was Listen, Believe, and Obey! Noah's ark was the example and so each ward was a different animal! We were the Zebras!

Jaxyn

This is our little caboose! Jaxyn just turned 5 and is so excited to go to Kindergarten this fall! Jaxyn is the life of the party at our house! He keeps us all laughing with his stunts and funny things that he says! He loves to ride bike, swim, play with his buddies (of any age) and play video games! He is a very strong spirit, and we love the challenge!

Brynklie

Brynklie Jo is our youngest daughter! She turns 8 in September and is so excited to be baptised! She loves to sing, dance, and play pretend! She is a little fish and LOVES to swim! She is a very good friend, and loves to hang out! She is really becoming a helper around the house and is a great pal to her little brother! She is definately the sweetheart of our home!

Skyler

This is our oldest son Skyler! He will be 12 in about a week! He is an awesome kid, probably the most caring, loving child you will ever meet! He enjoys playing football, baseball, basketball, hanging with friends, riding bikes and skateboards. He is a great asset to our family!

Kylie

Kylie Sue is 13 1/2! She is our beautiful dancer! Kylie is a great student and enjoys hanging out with friends, making new friends, planning parties and fun activities! She is a great help to us with the other kids and around the house! She is always dependable and fun to be around!

Jaycie

This is Jaycie! She is our oldest daughter. At 15 1/2 she loves driving, texting, playing soccer, softball, basketball, lifting weights, and running! She is a blast to have around and we really enjoy having her as the leader of the pack!

This is Kylie and her dance teacher McKel! She is a great teacher and we love her!
This is Kylie's end of year Dance Recital! These girls did a great job this year competing and took lots of trophies home! Ky loves to dance and it shows! She always has the best smile out there and is definately an attention grabber!

I'm trying to upload some pictures from Girl's Camp, but they won't work! So enjoy these pictures from our practice hike!
This is one of our many practice hikes that we took! We gradually built up the weight in our packs so that we would be ready for the big hike! I am missing one girl on this hike! This was the Chuckawalla hike that is not too far from where we live! Great hike..........Try it!!
